Ask once.
The right person answers.
Ask in Slack. Ping&Bump pings the colleague whose tickets and pull requests show they've done it before. If they can't take it, it bumps to the next one. The answer comes back to you.

@Ping&Bump why does the CSV export time out for EU customers?
DM to Mart · he fixed the export queue in March
Not my area.

I'll take it.

Liis Tamm: the Frankfurt worker still has a 30 second limit. Split the export by month for now.
How it works
- Ask. Mention @Ping&Bump in Slack, the way you'd ask a colleague.
- Ping. It finds who has done this before, from their tickets and pull requests, and sends them your question.
- Bump. If they can't take it, it goes to the next person who fits.
- Answer. The answer lands in your thread and is kept. The next person with the same question gets it without anyone being pinged. The person who answered can edit or withdraw it. It stays within the workspace, a private channel, or a question marked private.
Agents can ask too
When your AI agent gets stuck on something only a person knows, it asks Ping&Bump over MCP. A colleague gets pinged, sees which agent is asking and for whom, and the answer goes back to the agent.
ask_person({
question: "Why is the 2FA grace
period 14 days?",
goal: "Writing the release note"
})Fair to the people who know
Nobody gets more than two open questions or five pings a day, and everyone has quiet hours and a pause button. When everyone who fits is busy, the question waits. Ping&Bump never answers for anyone, and no manager can see who answers most.
